Long ago, I made the decision to leave the comfort of my childhood home and head south. So I'm a bit out of place, but I think I have come to revel in being that little yin dot in the yang swirl. I try to go with the flow of things. That's the budding Taoist in me.
An urban liberal living among suburban Wal-Mart conservatives. A young mother in a retirement haven. A nonswimmer in a beach town. And of course, a budding Taoist and lifelong Catholic living in the Bible belt.

In case you saw this particular TV news story last night, you may have heard the kicker, which quoted, nearly verbatim, an exclusive story that I had a couple of months ago. (Though I will note for the record, that the show got one fact slightly skewed.)
